Obituary of Henry Lawrence Clutterbuck
Clutterbuck, Henry (Harry) Lawrence
August 27, 1956 – April 21, 2022
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Harry is survived by his wife Jody (nee Wilcox) of 28 years, his children Patrick and Mary, and will also be missed by his dog Pidgeon. Beloved brother of Msgr. Leo Clutterbuck, Joe (Anne) of Australia, Rodney of Hamilton, Catherine, Helen (Peter) Schleich, George (Christine) of Burlington, Jessie (Jim Helmkay), Ada (Rick) Storin, John (Jackie) and Loretta. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Leo and Helen and sister Mary.
In his younger years, Harry was involved with Scouts Canada, hiking and planting trees throughout Short Hill Provincial Park. He had started his career in the bookstore of Denis Morris High School and achieved a place on the Wall of Fame as a builder of Catholic Education. Harry served on K of C at St. Mary’s Church. He was instrumental in building within his parish and wider community. He was an advocate for persons with brain injury and promoter of helmet use because of his professional experience with Ontario Brain Injury Association. He was a long-time friend and bookkeeper for the Holy Cross Fathers of Welland. Harry was also a recent member of the Board of Directors of Start Me Up Niagara. He was CGA and recently retired from Canadian Niagara Power. Harry loved working with people and loved the people he worked with. Such a soft-spoken gentleman. We will miss him dearly.
Mr. Clutterbuck’s family will receive visitors at the George Darte Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Tuesday, April 26th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Assumption, Roman Catholic Church, 169 St. Paul Crescent on Wednesday, April 27th at 11:00 am. Rite of Committal at Woodland Cemetery, Dunnville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Walker Family Cancer Centre or Ontario Brain Injury Association would be appreciated by the family.
