Restivo, Salvatore ‘John’
July 7, 1933 – April 3, 2022
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of John on April 3, 2022 in his 89th year. He was greeted by his faithful canine companion, Gracie and his wife Lois (2015). Devoted father to Heather (Greg Wicke), Bonnie (Robert Knight), and Anthony (Tammy). Poppa John to; Daniel, Kristie, Gabrielle, Amanda, Lewis, and Simon. Great-Poppy to Lilliana. Brother to Josephina (the late Bob). Uncle to many nieces and nephew. John was predeceased by his brother Gary (the late Vivian).
John began his career with Ontario Hydro at the age of 16 and retired after 39 years of service. Through his many acts of kindness and service to his family and community, he demonstrated what it meant to ‘love your neighbour’.
A special thank you to John’s neighbours, local pharmacy, No Frills, Dr. Whitty, and the caring staff on 4A at the St. Catharines Hospital.
Arrangements entrusted to George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private celebration will take place at a later date. If desired, donations to the Niagara Health System, or a charity of choice would be appreciated by John’s family.
