Obituary of Phutha Sisoutham

With heavy hearts we announce the tragic passing of Phutha Sisoutham at the age of 55. His passion for Laos music was well known throughout the community and he has touched the lives of many. Having immigrated from Laos to Canada, Phutha has traversed difficult situations and finally settled in St. Catharines where he found work at Eastwood Wood Specialties. The relationships he has built there will continue on past death. The owner Ferd has been keeping a close watch over Phutha and although he was never fully able to communicate with him, Phutha respected him as family and is truly thankful for everything he has done to help his family. When arriving in St. Catharines Phutha began attending the St. Catharines Laos Mennonite Church and was lead by Pastor Bounnho Phommaseng, during this time he was cared for by the family and community, he felt acceptance for the first time in quite a while. Phutha always was the one talking and creating conversations where ever he went. Although sometimes he was a goofball he was the goofball who was loved and adored. As a man Phutha was never sad even through the roughest of times, always smiling and laughing through the pain. Finally his soul and his body can be free from this world, where he can be as free as his spirit always was.

He is survived by his Mother, Father and Daughter back home in Laos and his Wife Choummala Vongdala and Son Chethalin Sisoutham in Canada.

The funeral proceeding has been set for 3 weeks after in hopes of having the whole family in attendance as his last wishes.

The funeral service and viewing will be at George Darte funeral chapel on Saturday April 23 from 10am-12pm.
