Obituary of Leona Barbara Lenartowich
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother who was “truly one of a kind”. Leona Lenartowich passed after a lengthy illness at the Chartwell Brant Center in Burlington on March 18, 2022 at the age of 91. Mom has peacefully moved on to be reunited with our Dad (Michael-2017) whom she missed dearly, . Loving mother of Kathleen Simpson, Brian (Carm) and Michael. Cherished Nanny to Dayna (Doug), Michelle (Matt), Diana (Cooper), Paul (Atyeh), Cameron and Breanna. Great Nanny to Andrew, Blake, Jane, Sophie and Palmer. Sister-in law to Mary (Mitch) Plata, David Swan and many nieces and nephews and extended family members. Predeceased by her dear sister Barbara Swan and parents Phyllis and Jack. Family meant everything to Mom. She was devoted to her elders, our Dad, her children and grandchildren. She lived her life for the ones she loved. Mom cherished spending holidays with her family, enjoying hobbies like handicrafts, cooking, baking, canning and listening to Dad’s polka music in the background. Mom’s pride was her beautiful flower gardens in the backyard of their Nina street home for over 60 years. Mom, we will miss you so much-your Angelic loving heart, your selflessness, courage, generosity, dedication and hard-work has been engraved into our family forever.
A private service and interment will take place on Friday, March 25, 2022. For those wishing to attend virtually, please click on the link below. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the T. Roy Adams Centre for Dementia Care would be appreciated by the family.
