Susan Carroll

Obituary of Susan Jane Carroll

Susan Jane Carroll passed away peacefully in hospital on January 19th, 2022 at the age of 65. Sue was a lifelong St. Catharines resident who leaves behind countless friends and loved ones, including her brother, Richard Carroll (Terry); her niece, Allison Carroll (Matthew Fesnak); and her beloved rescue kitty, Kizzy.

Sue was born January 28th, 1956, and was the youngest of three children. In her lifetime, she worked in the print shop at Hayes Dana, as a tutor to disabled children, and served those in need at Community Care. She was a brilliant visual artist and kind soul who laughed often and had a fondness for children and animals. She was known for her incredible beauty (both inside and out), her impeccable fashion sense, and her zest for life. She had countless loves in her life and was cherished by her friends, which is a testament to her charismatic nature. As gentle as she was, Sue was also incredibly resilient, having courageously fought cancer for six years before passing due to the effects of a stroke. She is now lovingly reunited with her sister, Nancy Maney; brother-in-law, Michael Maney; and her parents, Richard and Norma Carroll.

Visitation will take place at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Saturday, February 12th, 2022 from 11am to 1pm with a service following at 1pm. For those wishing to attend the visitation or service, proof of double vaccination/identification is required. Those wishing to attend must call the funeral home to RSVP at 905-937-4444 as capacity is limited.  Donations in Sue’s memory can be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre and Community Care.
