Obituary of John Cummings

IN MEMORY OF JOHN CUMMINGS It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of John Cummings. Much loved husband of Mary for sixty-four years. Survived also, by daughters, Isabel Gale(Wayne), Jennifer Dimmers(Bert) and son, David(Terri). Cherished grandfather to Peter Gale(Jessica), Christina Thomson(Ben), Robert Dimmers, Suzanne St.Germaine(Andrew)and great-grandchildren, Amelia, Archer and Alaska. Born in England in 1933, John and Mary chose a better life and in 1967, settled in Canada. John was a working man’s, man. A plumber even after retirement, he was happiest with tools in hand and a hard day’s work. He built a cottage in Ahmic Harbour that the family enjoyed for many years. He took great pleasure and pride in his vegetable garden, as well as woodworking, reading a bit of golf and a game of pool. A man of few words, his love for his family was shown in his eagerness to lend a hand with any repair or project on the go. John will be fondly remembered as an honest man of wit, integrity, strength and courage. A celebration of John’s life will be announced at a later date.
