Jane Ellen Hanlon (1955 - 2022)
It is with great sadness that we announce that Jane Hanlon, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away suddenly but peacefully on Friday, January 7, 2022 at age 66. Jane is predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Joyce Hanlon, her brother Adam Hanlon, and her husband, Richard Thomson. She is survived by her siblings: Greg (Anne), Mark (Anne) and Brent. She will be greatly missed by her children: Adrian (Rachel), Tassie (John), Amy (Shawn), Andrew (Anna), and Caitriona (Mackenzie), as well as her many grandchildren.
She had a great love of nature which led to a career in horticulture, and paved the path for her greatest passion: environmental activism. She spent many years involved with several environmental and political groups, fighting to save the planet.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at George Darte Funeral Home in St. Catharines at 1pm. For those wishing to attend the service, proof of double vaccination/identification is required. Please RSVP to George Darte Funeral Home at 905-937-4444, if you plan to attend, as space is limited.
