Obituary of Ronald Fraser
FRASER - Ronald Grant passed away peacefully in St.Catharines on January 7, 2022 at the age of 94 years. Ron is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Mary. As the loving father of John (Kelly) of St.Catharines and Alison (Allan) Magi of Dundas; dear Grandfather of Alexander (Madeleine), Kirsten (Markus), Kyle (Elizabeth), Alana (Andrew); and Great Grandfather of Riley, Ron was a source of steadfast support and understated kindness.
Ron and Mary were married for over 68 years. They emigrated from Elgin, Moray, Scotland to St.Catharines, where they raised their family and built an extraordinary life together. Avid travelers, they adventured together across many countries. Ron was a proud, quiet man who loved family, friends and all things Scottish. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church for over 69 years and worked for General Motors for over 37 years.
Ron was a graduate of the Edinburgh School of Chiropody and was a WWII Veteran in the British Land Forces. As a member of the Royal Army Medical Corps, he served in Scotland, England, Palestine and Egypt.
The family would like to thank the staff of Tabor Manor for the incredible care they gave to Ron these last months. Also a special thanks to Dr. Kopp and Dr. Greenway for their care and kindness.
A private family interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton, Street, St.Catharines.
An act of kindness for someone less fortunate will go a long way to making our world a better place and will honour the memory of a man who did the same.
