Martens, Anna (nee Reimer)
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Anna Martens (nee Reimer) on December 26, 2021 at 82 years old. Wife of the late John Martens (2013). She will be dearly missed by her children; Martha (John), Helena (Ron), Neil (Karen), Abe, and her stepchildren; Elizabeth (John), Jake (Sarah), John (Tina), and Katharina (late Henry), also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Anna had a great love for birds and enjoyed doing Word find puzzles and reading the German newspaper. She spent many years involved with the church, volunteering at the Christian Benefit Shop, and sewing with the Women’s Group.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday December 29, 2021 from 7-9pm at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, December 30 at 11am. For those wishing to attend the visitation or service, proof of double vaccination/identification is required. All will be welcome to attend the graveside portion of Anna’s funeral service. For those wishing to attend virtually, a livestream link will be provided below. If desired, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by Anna’s family.
