Obituary of Joyce Elizabeth Misener

                                                                                                                   Joyce Elisabeth Misener (Manning)

                                                                     March29/31 - Dec10/21

God has answered our mom’s prayers to have the angels who proclaimed the birth of Jesus, carry her soul into his presence. She has exchanged her pain for angels wings. She leaves behind her children, Wayne (Debbie), Sharon Bartelds(Bill), David (Janet).

Grandchildren Jill, Cameron, Brandon, Tyler, Allison, Ben, Caleb, and 13 great-grandchildren. Born in Medina, NewYork, she moved to Canada when she was 14. Married the love of her life (Arthur) on August 4,1951.

They were inseparable until God called him in June 2010. She was a devoted Lutheran who loved the Lord, her family and the church. She loved her job as secretary (various schools)with the Board of Education and retired in 1987 to pursue their dreams of travel to include USA coast to coast, Europe, Alaska, Arizona and soon declared the title snowbirds every year in Harlingen, Texas, enjoying the sun and square dancing. Frequent visits to Progresso Mexico and the Rose Garden for 25 cent beer with friends was always a good time. In May 1994 they moved to Ina Grafton as a retirement plan. It was indeed a blessing with PSW’s caring for her like their own mother. Throughout her last days in NHS we give heartfelt thanks to the many visits and prayers from Pastor Lantz and the genuine kindness of the nursing staff. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church in St. Catharines.

Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, December 16th from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. Due to Covid-19 regulations, anyone wishing to attend the visitation must show Proof of Vaccination for Covid-19. All must wear a mask. A celebration of Joyce’s life will take place in the spring. Details to be announced. “We love you Mom”.
