Obituary of Doris Barbara Hood
DORIS BARBARA HOOD
1959-2021
It is with profound sadness that the family of Doris Hood (nee Grossman) announce her passing on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the age of 62 after a courageous struggle with pancreatic cancer. Beloved wife and best friend of 39 years to Ron. Doris will be forever lovingly remembered by her children Barbara (Justin) and Geoffrey (Laura). She will deeply miss being ‘Gamma’ to her cherished grandchildren Aiden and Callen. Predeceased by her father Willy, she will be deeply missed by her stepmother Sylvia, siblings Ronald (Megan), Shelley, Rosemary (Craig), mother Karin, siblings Monica and Klaus in Germany, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Everyone remembers Doris with her curly red hair and beautiful smile. She was most proud of her family, who brought her joy and happiness. Doris loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She enjoyed having meals with those she loved, curling up with a good book, and watching Hallmark movies. Doris was actively involved in her community, volunteering at Grace Lutheran Church, her children’s schools & sports teams, and many other organizations. Giving back to those around her was second nature. Doris took great pride in her work at Gordon White Financial and Scotia McLeod and cherished the relationships that she formed with her coworkers and clients.
The Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines 905-937-4444 on Sunday, November 28th from 2-4pm.
