Obituary of Felicia Natale

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Felicia Natale on November 15, 2021. Predeceased by her husband Ernesto in 2019, brother Carmine and sister Giuseppina. Felicia is survived by her brother Ernesto as well as her children Errico (Beth), Filomena Schreiner (John), Maria (Mike) Sullivan and Lucia Hunt. Gramma will be greatly missed by grandchildren Darryl, Rachel (Patrick), Laurel, Chiara, JT, Makiah, Katie (Jesse), Erika (Hailey), Felicia and Olivia, as well as her great-grandchildren Nora, Milana and Maxine.

Felicia was born in 1933 in the small town of Fossacesia in the province of Chieti which is in the Abruzzo region of Italy. She was a kind and industrious woman who was always close to her family. Growing up in a rural community, she met her future husband who just happened to live across the street. After their marriage in 1957, they left their village for a new life in Canada, joining her brothers Carmine and Ernesto who had already emigrated to Canada. Felicia was a quiet but determined person, who cherished her family and friends. Felicia was a talented seamstress who worked from home while her children were young, creating many dresses and outfits for the local Italian community. Once her children were all in school she began her second career, managing the kitchen first at Logan’s, a popular Italian restaurant, then at the Brock University Student Union. Once retired Felicia and Ernesto enjoyed travelling with friends and taking care of her ever-expanding family.

Many thanks to her care-givers at the Heidehof Home for the Aged whose compassion brightened her time there. Visitation will take place at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St. St. Catharines, on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
