Obituary of Kathleen Winnifred Powell
Passed away peacefully on October 21st, 2021 in her 104th year. She is now reunited with her husband, William (1995). Loving mother to Dorothy (the late Alec Zacharuk), Linda Madsen (Heinz), William (Ingrid), and Douglas (Angela). Cherished grandmother to nine grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Born and raised in Almonte, Kay moved to St.Catharines in 1940.
Kay loved to garden, and enjoyed cooking, and baking. She was a true homemaker in every sense of the word.
Arrangements entrusted to George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. A Celebration of Life will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, October 23rd at 10am with interment to follow. Those wishing to attend the funeral service must RSVP to the funeral home at 905-937-4444 as capacity is limited. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
