Obituary of Ionel Mircea

Ionel Mircea, 70, of Stancuta (Braila), Romania, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 surrounded by family. He was born on June 2, 1951 in Stancuta, Braila County, Romania. Ionel graduated from Gheorghe Munteanu Murgoci Braila high school and received a degree from Technical School of Architecture "Ion Mincu" in Bucharest. He is survived by his two children Andreea and Alexandru and their mom. In 2005 he married Maria, his high-school sweetheart and moved to Canada to join her and her step-daughter, Yvonne. Ionel is also survived by sister Valeria who remained in Romania alongside with his nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by parents Mihai and Dumitra and his brother-in-law Mihai.

He was known for his perfectionism depicted during college which instituted a passion for crafty projects, wonderful storytelling abilities and life lessons shared with family and friends. He felt his life was accomplished when he got to play with his grandson David.

In keeping with his wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME 585 Carlton St., where the family will accept guests for visitation from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, August 15, 2021 followed by a Funeral Service in the ceremony room at 3 p.m. If desired, the family wishes in lieu of flowers that a donation be made in honour of Ionel to Hospice Niagara.
