Obituary of Donald Angus Hall
HALL, Donald Angus
02/24/1943 – 08/01/2021
Passed away after a very brief illness, surrounded by the love of his wife, on Sunday, August 1, 2021. Loving husband and best friend of 33 years to Vicki (nee Szostak). Donald is survived by his sister Elizabeth Longford of Peterborough and brother David Hall of Nanaimo, BC. Predeceased by his sister Mary Enman of Peterborough. Brother-in-law to Joseph and Angela Szostak. Fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Donald leaves behind many treasured friendships, especially his golfing buddies Blair and Fred.
Donald was especially proud of having 40 jobs prior to meeting his wife. He loved to tell many, many stories, and was known for his unusual sense of humour. Donald loved meeting and talking to anyone, anywhere. He always had something to say. He was very proud of his nick names “Flipperlips” and “Mr. Vicki.” Donald will be remembered for his passion for golf, his love of fishing, his devotion to the Toronto Maple Leafs, his creativity (painting, wood carving) and for always lending a helping hand or driving people wherever they needed to be. He took great pride in his home, where everyone was welcome.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at NHS – St. Catharines, especially those on 3B (Palliative Care Unit) and in CCU. Also, to the numerous friends for their support, calls and care packages.
Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, August 5 from 3-7 p.m. A funeral service for Donald will be held on Friday, August 6 at 12 p.m. in the funeral home ceremony room.
