Jean Lech

Obituary of Jean Elizabeth Lech

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of a wonderful lady, who did so on her own terms, peacefully in her sleep, on the Lord’s day, Sunday, July 25, 2021. Now she is in the arms of the Angels. Born in Saskatchewan on April 24, 1927, then moved to Ontario while in her teens, then finally settling in St. Catharines. She was a hard worker all her life and worked at General Motors for over 30 years where she met and married the love of her life in 1979 Nick Lech(2006). After they both retired they became snowbirds residing in Florida for the winters.

Jean was an avid gardener, an excellent cook, crocheter, enjoyed word searches and was most proud of herself passing her annual driving test until her 92nd birthday. Most of all she loved her family and instilled strong values. Jean was a kind hearted soul and touched the hearts of all she met including animals, particularly those without homes, and took in many stray cats over her lifetime.

Predeceased by her parents Frances and Anton Kukaryshen, siblings Joe and Ann, and daughter Virginia.         Survived by daughters Sharon (Cash) Banas, Cynthia  McCollick; grandchildren Shelby (Norm) Banas; Candace (Geoff) Fowler; Victoria (MacKenzie) Lattimer; Brandon (Rebecca); David (Angie) McLeod; Robin (Patrick) Diaz; Chris, Leonard, Brittany and Courtney Lech; 12 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and very special Momma Jean to Dawn and Ken Crawford and Jane (Larry) Widdicombe.

Special thank you to Dr. J. Hutchinson for the care provided to Jean over the years.
