I am so sad to hear of Miss Medland's passing. I truly enjoyed her as a music teacher at Maple Street Senior Public in 1969 to 1970. Miss Medland taught the music and was one of the original Maple St. Senior Public teachers arriving in 1965. Miss Medland started her career teaching in St. Catharines; 1956 at Bethel and 1957/58 and 58/59 at Woodland. In 1959 Niagara Falls opened a new school called Orchard Park, and she was an original member of that staff starting there in 1959. In 1965 she transferred to Maple St. to teach music and English. She remained at Maple St.into the early 70's and later taught at Princess Elizabeth and Cherrywood Acres schools for many years. I am unsure of her retirement date, but she served the Niagara youth well for many years..She looks great in the staff photo below: Maple St. staff - first teacher in the first row Thank you Miss Medland for your years of dedication.
