Obituary of Donna Königshaus
KÖNIGSHAUS, Donna (nee Ruscio)
January 8, 1934 – June 10, 2021
Passed away peacefully in her 88th year. Donna joins her loving husband Alfred in heaven. Cherished mother to her five children: Michael (Colleen), Gregory (Elizabeth), Paul (Judy), Mary Jane (Gary) Mundell, Donna (Donald) Knowles. Nana was blessed with 10 grandchildren: Jason, Michelle, Ryan, David, Alex, Brooke, Dyani, Bronwyn, Reilly and Kathryn and her great-grandchildren Lauren and Frederick. Donna is survived by her sister Francine (Ken) Littlewood, sister-in-law Theresa Ruscio and cousin Judy Brooks. Donna is predeceased by her parents Jane and Frank. Also predeceased by her siblings Ann (Carl) Weller, Victor and Frank Ruscio.
Donna was a Registered Nurse who graduated from St. Michaels in Toronto and worked for many years at The Hotel Dieu Hospital. Oil painting, quilting, knitting, sewing and making lists were among her many talents.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the marvelous and compassionate PSWs and staff at Ina Grafton Gage Village and the supportive staff in 3B at the St. Catharines General.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. A private funeral service will be held for family. Interment will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations to the St. Vincent De Paul Society may be made in Donna’s honour.
Gratitude for My Mom
God, thank you for the gift of earthly life for our Mom/Grandma/Nana - Donna Margaret Mary Ruscio Konigshaus. Thank you for all the years we have enjoyed with her. We praise her that she stood with us through the good times and the bad times and all the love she gave every one of us. We cherish the memories of times of joy and times of sorrow. As she is now at rest with you and reunited with her husband Alfred our Dad/Grandpa/Papa, we thank you for the hope of a future in your presence and that we will all be reunited once again. Now may you, God, give us peace at all times and in every way and keep us strong.
