I was so sorry to learn of Dr. Longenecker's passing earlier this year. Please forgive the fact that this is being sent so late.
Dr. Longenecker was a great mentor to me, especially as he led the post-grad seminar. It was there that I realized I was not meant to pursue an academic career after all! I ended up becoming an Anglican priest!
I am attaching a copy of the title page of a major essay that I wrote for him, along with his comments (especially regarding the spelling of his name.
Ironically, in spite of his comments, I was more inclined to "Biblical Theology" in any event. I eventually wrote a book "in the Bosom of Abraham" on the subject! It was in connection with this book that I last spoke to him (he was in Niagara-on-the-Lake at the time, I believe).
