Obituary of Sheila Mary Weatherhead
Weatherhead, Sheila Mary
May 28th, 1936 – May 27th, 2021
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sheila on May 27th, 2021 in her 85th year. She is now reunited with her husband, Desmond (2008). Loving sister of Molly, Pat, Kathleen and Joan, and cherished aunt of twenty-one surviving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, and two sisters, Noreen and Violet.
Sheila lived life on her own terms, proud of her ability to live independently after the death of her beloved Desmond. She had a close-knit group of friends, and together they made trips to the casino, gambling twenty dollars at a time (often calling her nephew asking ‘if she can afford it’). She very much enjoyed going out for lunches and drives with her various nieces and nephews and chatting on the phone with all, including her much loved sisters. Sheila was a kind and caring soul and will be dearly missed by her close friends and family.
In keeping with Sheila’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to Covid restrictions, a private funeral service will take place at George Darte Funeral Home on Friday June 4th, 2021 at 11am. Following the service, inurnment will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations in Sheila’s memory to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by her family.
