Obituary of Helen Louise Predovich
Helen Predovich (Christie)
With great sadness we announce the passing of Helen, our loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend on Wednesday, May 5th, 2021. Helen left us while at the St Catharines General Hospital with her husband Richard at her side. She was in her 77th year.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Margaret Christie. Helen is survived by her loving husband Richard, of 55 years, her two children Jim (Jenny) and Julie, special grandson Edwin, whom she loved dearly, brother Bruce (Mary), many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and her grand-dog, Maggie.
Helen will be remembered as a kind, sweet, smart woman who enjoyed the simple things in life. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker who loved to cook and keep an immaculate house. Helen loved spending time with her family and friends, gardening, sitting in the sun and reading. While not a golfer herself, Helen loved to walk the local golf courses, as well as courses in Muskoka and Myrtle Beach with Richard. Helen loved to dance to the music of the 50’s and early 60’s. She especially enjoyed the music of the Platters and Elvis Presley.
Helen was not an athlete or competitive in nature, but she loved watching her kids play sports and Richard coach softball and hockey. Helen also loved to watch Jeopardy each night as she tried to beat the contestants at “Final Jeopardy”, which she did occasionally, producing two thumbs up and a huge smile.
On behalf of our family, we wish to sincerely thank the many doctors, nurses and health care workers that treated Helen with care and compassion over the last few months.
As per Helen’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the George Darte Funeral Home in St. Catharines. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, Helen would prefer donations in her memory to the Rankin Cancer Run or the Lincoln County Humane Society. Helen was a proud volunteer of the Rankin Cancer Run for 15 years. She always placed others ahead of herself. She will be sadly missed by many.
