Dear Donna,
Sending condolences to you and your family at sad time.
Your Dad was the very first friend my father, Reg Hayes, met when he travelled to find work in Ontario from New Brunswick in 1950 and made St. Catharines his home.
Our Dads were in the same rooming house on King St and then at Mrs. Smith’s on Beecher St. In those days downtown St. Catharines was bustling with activity and the black and white photos seem to capture everyone dressed in their Sunday best having a wonderful time.
Once work was established my Father travelled back to New Brunswick and he and my mother Colleen Hayes (nee Gordon) married.
They started their new married life in St. Catharines and your Dad become a lovely friend to my mother as well and kept in touch for many years.
When my grandfather, Morrissey Gordon came to Niagara from New Brunswick in 1952 Trevor took him to see Niagara Falls for the first time.
Over the years I have heard your Dad mentioned warmly in stories and always there were smiles.
He was kind to keep in touch with my mom for many years after my father passed in 2002.
He had called last year and asked if Mom could visit in person. Unfortunately this was during a time when she had lengthy recovery from major surgery and regretfully was not able to leave her apartment.
On behalf of my mother and the Hayes family we are grateful for the many years of friendship and are saddened to know he has passed.
May he rest in peace. He will be fondly remembered.
With sincere condolences,
Jennifer Hayes

I met Trevor in September 2003 when I started bowling with his team in the men's retiree's 10 pin league at Fairview Lanes.
I was immediately attracted by his gentle nature and kind ways. He was a true gentleman and a good friend for the time we knew each other. I will miss him, as will all who knew him. My sincere condolences to his family. May you find peace in knowing what good man he was to all who knew him. Rest in peace Trevor.

I remember Trevor as a devoted and faithful attendant at daily morning mass in St. Alfred parish. He would sit in the same pew every morning, very quiet, in deep and thoughtful prayer, seemingly oblivious of any possible surrounding distraction. Trevor was a man of strong faith, and his quiet, mild mannered and positive disposition was always appreciated when we briefly chatted after mass. I am sure he is now in the place of joyous, everlasting peace he has so well deserved, heaven, with God, who he so openly loved and worshipped.. My thoughts and prayers are with Trevor and his family. May his soul and the souls of all of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.

Our hearts are with you, and we are sending our love to our southern Ontario family. Uncle Trevor was loved by all of us, all ages were able to connect with him. He will be missed, this is when we realize that we should have made more trips but the last few years were not able to.
