Obituary of Edward Albert Sloper
SLOPER, Edward -It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward (Ed) Sloper on Monday, March 8, 2021, in his 90th year, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Devoted husband of 64 years to Dorothy. Loving Father of: Bill (Diane), Cheryl (Ross), Sandra (Phil) and Brad (Nina). Proud Grandfather to: Christine, Andy (Shannon), Matthew, Warren, Brent (Taylor), Brianne (Marty), Pamela, Ethan, Emily and Ella. Great-Grandfather to: Owen and Hailey.
Ed was a kind, patient and gentle man and he loved his wife and family. He enjoyed being around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ed has left us with many fond memories over the years. He enjoyed the outdoors-camping with his family, being a Scout Leader for many years. He also enjoyed being a clown and a Santa for many children's events over the years. Ed enjoyed his hobbies-model ship building, model railroading and wood working. "Dad could fix anything". Ed was an employee of A&P for 41 years. His favourite part of working was his fellow co-workers and customers. After retirement, Ed and Dorothy enjoyed many summers at their trailer camp.
Many thanks and appreciation to Garden City Manor for taking excellent care of our Father, and for arranging our recent Zoom calls. Dad likes to sing ! ("You Are My Sunshine")
Donations may be made to Parkinson Canada. Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19, there will be a private family ceremony at a later date.
