Angie Bourolias

Obituary of Angie Bourolias

Passed away on Tuesday February 9, 2021 with so much love surrounding her. She took her last breath with her sister and her nieces beside her to be finally reunited with her beloved husband George in their eternal home. Angie was born in Dafni, Laconia, Greece on August 10, 1944. She was the youngest of 6 siblings and is survived by her only sister Helen Sotirakos. Loved and adored by many nieces and nephews, Tina Sotirakos, Tess Sotirakos, Kathy Sotirakos and her husband Nick Roussos and their son Mike, Thalia Lambrinou, Peter Lambrinos, Stephanie Marangoudakis, Terry Sotirakos, Louie & Maria Kokinakos, John & Nitsa Makris and Mary & Evie Bourolias. In laws, Voula Bourolias, Jimmy & Pota Kokinakos. Good friends Andy & Anna Moisakos, Fay Papadakos, Kathy Mendis, George Tzanetakos and John Stefanidis.

Angie lived her life to the fullest. If you knew Angie, you would agree that she was generous, gracious, brave, stubborn, proud, and a classy woman. She exuded a sense of regality, and her home and appearance reflected that. In her younger years she liked to travel to Caribbean destinations, sun and sand made her happy. She owned fast cars, and to her nieces and nephews she was the "cool" aunt. She met George, the love of her life in 1974. They were best friends, had much love and respect for each other, and truly were the perfect example of a happily married couple. They made a living by working in the restaurant business. Angie would always say, one must never clear a table till the last person has finished eating their meal! Throughout the years they lived in Niagara, Toronto, Greece, and finally settled in St. Catharines. When they retired, they enjoyed many months in Greece, where they had a lovely home in the village of Amyklai very close to Sparta. Always the perfect hosts, they loved to entertain and prepare meals for family and friends whether in Canada or in Greece. Angie lived her life "my way" and true to her nature, transitioned to her eternal home doing it "my way". So, if you knew Angie and loved her, please raise your glass of red wine and give a toast for the life she lived. She would approve!

The family would like to thank the Walker Family Cancer Centre, hospice care she received at home, nurse practitioner Ari and Heather, nurses Nicole and Jennifer, the PSWs and all the wonderful friends and neighbours who showed kindness and compassion to Angie in her final days. In keeping with Angie's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME 585 Carlton Street St. Catharines, ON.
