Obituary of Joanne Beverley Jenne
JENNE, JOANNE (nee DEGUIRE)
October 15, 1940 – January 19, 2021
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joanne Jenne peacefully in her home. She will always be remembered and sadly missed by her daughters Kim Commerford (John), Jodi Grandchamp (Mike), and predeceased Kelly Mernuck (Mike). Forever cherished by her grandchildren; Jamie (Steffany), Michael (Rena), Ashley, Steven (Vana), Jennifer (Parker) and great grandchildren; Carson, Lucas, Roger, Jay, Addie, and Pat. Joanne was well respected and loved by all who knew her. She was survived by her loving siblings Dianne, Jack, George, and Penny. Predeceased by her partner Joe McGuiness, Father Samuel, Mother Edith, and siblings; Betty, Sandy, Ronny, Donny, Bill.
Some of Joanne’s favourite pastimes included cooking (which was enjoyed by all), coaching and playing softball, and playing cards with family. She never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy, and always looked forward to watching golf on TV, as well as attending the Canadian Open live at the Glen Abbey Golf Course. She always loved the company of her grandpuppies Rex, Ruby, and Haylee.
In keeping with Joanne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19 regulations, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when it is safe to gather together once again.
Joanne’s family has asked that donations be made to the Rankin Cancer Run in her memory, as she was a proud participant for several years. Arrangements have been entrusted to George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, 905-937-4444
