Obituary of Alfred Taylor
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of the most loving husband, father, grandfather, great (great) grandfather, Alfred “Alfie” Taylor in his 101st year on Saturday, January 16, 2021. Predeceased by his wife Theresa (1990), daughter Sandra (1944). Amazing Father to Alan (Ann), and Graham. Wonderful Grandfather to Kelly (John), Kyla (Rob), Olivia, Adelaide and Hugh. Great (great) grandfather to Keagan, Reilly, Declan, Keira (Allan and baby DeRoo expected spring 2021), Mischa, and Aidan.
Alfred was Born in Oldbury, United Kingdom July 23rd 1920. He worked at BIP, served as a Royal Marine in Britain, Mediterranean, Ceylon and Burma as part of the MNBDO Regiment 1940-1946. Alfred visited Canada over the years with his wife Theresa and eventually moved here at the age of 80. Alfred had a funny sense of humour, he always enjoyed English football (soccer), horse races, gardening (loved roses), reading, biscuits, chocolates, pork pies and spending time with his family.
Special thanks goes out to his caregivers especially during his final days. Jane and Kim at his home for always keeping us updated when we couldn’t be there as well as Dr. Lucey and Dr. Halliday for their care over the years. In accordance with Alfred’s wishes, cremation has taken place, a celebration will be held at a later date when we are able to do so.
