Obituary of Shirley Scott
Shirley Ruth Scott (Nee Reid) 1930 – 2021
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 5th, in her 91st year, at Lookout Ridge Retirement Home in Fonthill. Beloved wife to George (pre-deceased 2017). Loving mother of George (Terri) of Thorold. Cherished grandmother to Jordan (Samantha) and Matthew, all of Vancouver. Loving great grandmother of Dayton and Marley. For Shirley, spending time with her two grandsons, were some of her happiest memories. Shirley is survived by her sister Ina Grant of Angus. She is predeceased by her sister Patricia Grant and brothers Jerry Reid and Ted Reid. She will be sadly missed by her sisters in law Joyce and Eleanor. Shirley was a teacher of 25 years at Canadian Martyrs Catholic Elementary School in St. Catharines and will be fondly remembered by many former students. After her retirement she enjoyed being a member of White Oaks Tennis Club. She will be deeply missed by her many tennis and bridge partners, as well as all her friends and staff at the Lookout Ridge Community. Shirley’s family would like to provide a very special Thank You to the amazing Nursing Staff and the outstanding Personal Support Workers who took such great care of Shirley. Arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Unfortunately, due to the current Covid -19 restrictions the Scott family will have a private graveside prayer service at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
