Dear John, Jane, Greg and AnMarie,
I was incredibly saddened to learn of your Dad’s passing over the holidays. I do hope that everyone was able to spend some time with him despite our current difficulties. Knowing the importance of family to John Sr. it does seem fitting that he joined your Mom at that time of year when family most often comes together. I hope you are able to take some comfort in knowing that they are together again.
Some of my fondest memories from High School include spending time with the entire Dewar family and enjoying lazy summer days at the Dewar cottage. I find myself thinking of those days more often as time passes. Please know that you are all in our thoughts at this time.
Love, Jeff and Louise

TO THE DEWAR FAMILY & FRIENDS:
It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of John Sr. "Mr. Dewar". He was a truly descent and kind human being and the world will be lesser place with your loss.
I have so many cherished memories of hanging out at the Dewar Family Home on Briarfield Cres., attending Sabres Games at the Aud. in Buffalo and water skiing at the Cottage on Three Mile Lake!
My life has been enriched because of John, Anne and all of the extended family. For that I'm am very grateful.
My heart goes out to you all and our prayers are with you.
Love
Michael & Janis Mirynech

Oh Janie!! and the rest of the Dewar Family at large!! Your Dad was always a true gentleman, so loving, kind and funny!
I cannot imagine your heartbreak, but I do know you have a treasure trove of memories to help comfort you through this difficult time. And that he is with, as you've said, his beloved Annie!
I was so glad to hear that Greg is home.
Sending you all my love and prayers.

My sincere condolences to the Dewar Clan and extended family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all.
I have lots of fond memories of "Mr. Dewar". John was like a second father being our neighbour for many years on Three Mike Lake and never letting us get way with anything. I always remember him coming over when he smelt my mom's homemade apple pies to see if she made an extra for him.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Hugs, Cathy Crowder

I always enjoyed sitting with John at the Rowing Alumni meetings and getting the latest news of his grandson playing in the NLL, his history of the rowing scene and the banter amongst his peers. He will be missed by many. My condolence to the entire family.
