Obituary of Frances Genevieve Lyons

LYONS, Frances Genevieve (nee Cavanaugh)

Passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 31, 2020 in her 94th year in her residence in Fonthill, Ontario. Born in Prince Edward Island as one of six children, Frances was a devoted Catholic. Her family and her faith were her sustenance. Frances was predeceased by Kevin (2001), her loving husband of 48 years. She was loved deeply by her children, Gerard (Lana), Christopher (Sharon), Bernice Brown (Douglas), and Gregory (Louise), and grandchildren; Christie, Kelly (Elliot), Jessica (Tallon), Michael, and Stephen. She also leaves two great-grandchildren, Jax and Everly. She is remembered fondly by her twin sister Freda and many nieces and nephews.

Frances was quick-witted; always ready with a good-natured quip. She graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nurses in Montreal and was committed to continuous learning. She enjoyed long walks, playing golf, skiing, bridge and would practice speaking French at any opportunity. Frances was a warm-hearted, gentle spirit whose quiet tenacity and comforting presence will be missed.
