KOZINSKI, Stefan Michal
May 9, 1926-June 16, 2012
Passed away peacefully into the arms of God at the Juravinski Hospital on Saturday, June 16th after waging a valiant and gentlemanly battle with cancer, in his 87th year.
Beloved husband of Agata for over 59 years, and cherished father of Ursula (Alex) Kehoe, Yvonne (John) Van Lankveld and Barbara Toth. Proud Dziadzio of Lee Van Lankveld (Dr. Melanie Senechal), A.J. Kehoe, Craig Van Lankveld, Kristen Toth-Larionov (Boris), Karin Kehoe (Aubrey McNeill) and Carly Toth.
Stefan was born in Borowina, Poland and was a decorated Veteran of the Second World War and he served in the Polish Air Force under British Command, in locations which included Palestine, Heliopolis (Egypt), Scotland and England.
He arrived in Canada in March of 1952, working hard as an aircraft mechanic until accepting a position as a machine repair tradesman at General Motors in St. Catharines from where he retired. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 418, for many years.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
Mr. Kozinski's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, June 21st from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 22nd at Our Lady of the Scapular Church, 6557 Thorold Stone Road, Niagara Falls at 11am. Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Thursday at 3pm. There will be a private family inurnment at a later date.
If desired, memorial donations to Juravinski Cancer Centre (Lymphoma Research) would be graciously appreciated by the family.
