Obituary of Hilary Christine Tham
With great sadness, our family announces the peaceful passing of Hilary Tham (nee Mann) on December 23rd, 2020, in her 71st year. Loving wife of Ray, proud mother of Richard, Jeffrey (Amber), Nicola, and Christopher (Sheila). Proud grandmother to Adalyn, Preston, and Grayson. Much loved sister of Peter (Jayne) Mann. Loving aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. Hilary was predeceased by her dear mother and father, Elsie and James Mann. She will be deeply missed by her family, many of her friends, as well as her dog, Lucy
Hilary was passionate about giving to others, and dedicated much of her time to volunteering with child care programs, as well as women’s and church events. She loved southern Gospel music and travelling, attending many concerts over the years. She cherished the time that she was able to spend with her three grandchildren. Hilary loved animals, and spent her time doting on many family pets over the years. She will be remembered as someone fiercely loyal to her family, as well as a generous and compassionate wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and friend, with a keen sense of humour.
Hilary's family would like to give thanks to the many healthcare workers that provided excellent care through the past year, with special thanks to the staff on the Woodend Park unit at Henley House. Cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to the George Darte Funeral Home of St. Catharines. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to charities which Hilary supported and loved: Samaritan’s Purse, Watoto Ministries, or your local SPCA.
