Val & family,
MaryBeth and I were able to get to know Doug and your family over the last 10 years or so in the Gull Line neighborhood, and we both have fond memories of simple fun and adventure along the lake! Doug and I both shared SK RoughRider football experiences and the occasional Bills game over the years..! Although we were unable to get to Regina for the "real" Rider experience together, Doug will always cheer with me in spirit for any TiCat-Rider rivalry in years to come!
God Bless Doug and the Searle family!
Sincerely,
Chris and MaryBeth Andrews

Doug was a wonderful friend to me and so many others and it is so sad to know that he is no longer with us. I have many, many great memories of all the adventures we had and the time we spent together in our younger days, all the way back to when we first met in middle school. Driving in his Spitfire (when we were not fixing it) – including one trip all the way to Saskatchewan and back - is just one of the highlights. We both cheered for the Riders and shared our interest in music and cars. Truly wonderful times and memories. My deepest sympathy to Val, Ken, Alyse and Franklyn and everyone in the Searle and Bayley families. Doug will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Val, Kenny, Alyse, Franklin and family
Our hearts were broken when we learned of Doug’s passing. He was such a gentle giant - full of love, laughter and kindness.
We should have known he was a Roughriders fan...the most fun people on the planet!
We fondly remember Oktoberfests, spaghetti dinners and heading to St Catharines to see you. Sending you our deepest sympathy for a wonderful man taken far too young.
We hope your memories will help you through this difficult time.
Much love
Lee and Jeff

Val, Kenny, Alyse, Frankie, Pat and Mike; it’s unimaginable that’s such sad news can bring back so many great memories of time spent with such a genuine and down-to-earth guy. RD and our family always enjoyed spending time with the Searle’s. Doug reminded us often he was our favourite cousin and it was true. We had so many laughs and good times. Doug you will truly be missed. May your wonderful memories help sustain you at this difficult time and in the days to follow. Though I can’t be there with you in your time of mourning my thoughts and prayers are always with you.
Love Heather.

Val, Kenny, Alyse, and Franklyn, I was so sad to hear about what happened. Doug was such a kind soul.
It was so nice running into him (and the dogs) at the Glenridge Quarry a few times recently after all of these years.
And I'll always remember him and the fun Halloween parties at your house.
You're in our thoughts.
Lots of love,
Sarah and family

How our family adored Doug! We loved his love of his family, his sense of humour, his tales of driving his Spitfire with a cast on his arm set so he could shift gears, his six large coolers when we camped at Sandbanks, his beer bottle collection. We watched him deal with heartbreaking loss and illness as a young man, and he did it with courage and grace. He was an awesome stay-at-home Dad and was ahead of his time in carrying out this role.
Our deepest condolences to Val, Ken, Alyse, and Franklyn.
We love you,
Lynn and Chris
