Obituary of Neil McPhail

McPHAIL, Neil D.

After a long and courageous battle, we announce the passing of Neil on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at the age of 74. He leaves behind his loving wife of 24 years Diann, his children Scott, Catherine and Peter, grandchildren Brendan and Cassandra as well as his fur baby Bailey. He will be missed by his sister Margaret (Lee), the late Bill (Linda), many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, the weekend boys and friends.

Neil had a love for all sports. He enjoyed cheering on the games and coaching from the couch to the TV. He especially enjoyed watching his favourite teams, the Red wings for hockey, the Blue Jays for Baseball, Notre Dame for Football, The Raptors and Duke University for Basketball. Neil will be missed by his morning coffee buddies both at Tim Hortons and A&W. After working for the St. Catharines Transit as a Bus Driver for 30 years, Neil retired and spent as much time with his family and friends as possible. Whether it was camping or just hanging out on the deck, anytime with his loved ones was a good time for Neil.

The family would like to thank the Staff at the Walker Family Cancer Center, EMS, Emergency Staff and ICU Staff at NHS- St. Catharines Site for all your care and compassion.

In accordance with Neil’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Saturday, September 19, 2020 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
