It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jerick after a long and courageous battle on Friday, August 14, 2020 at the young age of 28. Beloved husband of Emily and Dad to Jayden. He is the cherished son of Jose and Rossan and son in law to Rick and Lorna. Grandson to Lola Nydia Basilio and Grandpa Howard Fretz, predeceased by Lolo Enrique Basilio, Lolo Jose Rabot Senior and Lola Conchita Rabot. He will be dearly missed by many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, friends and coworkers both in the Philippines and in Canada.
Jerick was very passionate about his job as a Nurse landing his dream job in the OR at the Welland County General Hospital. When he was not at work his other passion was for food and cooking, making amazing meals for his family. He also loved the outdoors, having bonfires, camping, gardening and traveling. But his most prized passion was being a Dad.
A special thank you to his health care team both in the community and at the Walker Family Cancer Centre, Dr. Yelamanchili, Dr. Cruz, Dr. Dooler, his Social Worker Donna, his Nurses and Aunt Lynn for all your care and compassion.
In accordance with Jerick’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to Covid-19 restrictions a Private family Celebration of Life will be held. A recording of the service will be published on this Obituary page on Monday August 24, 2020 at 10 am. Memorial donations may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre.
