Hello Paul,
Just happened upon this obituary. I am very late finding out. Something reminded me of your father and I found this posting. Sorry to hear about his. When I think of your dad, I think of a guy who is always smiling and in a good mood, a pleasure to be around. We used to live across the street from you on Spring Garden.

My sympathies to all the DeCampos and Golub families. Although I haven't had contact with Lou Gwen or the boys, I have thought fondly of them many times over the years. Lou taught me much about life when I was a child. He taught me about work ethic, humor, and fun. Both he and Gwen were a refuge for me many times. Peace!

Dear Mrs. DeCampo, Lou and Paul and your families - you will know me from our days of school at Our Lady of Fatima. I remember you all so well and am very sorry to hear of the passing of your dad/husband. I wish you all 'Serenity' to accept the things you cannot change....God Bless you all. Sincerely, Dawna Bacon.
I well remember the fruit and vegetable slogan: "Sell the Best and Eat the rest"....or was that just Paul's excuse when he left his lunch in his desk and the fruit went bad....

For Aunt Gwen, Little Lou, Paul and family.
I am so sorry for your loss and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I will forever be grateful for all the time Uncle Lou shared with me. Lou DeCampo was a man of surpassing integrity; a man of the utmost sincerity; somewhat larger than life.
As a boy and into my teens, I looked forward to all the weekends and springbreaks spent with Uncle Lou with a sense of mystical joy. Be it a truck show or getting a load of potatoes, Uncle Lou always made it an adventure. I always enjoyed his fondness of sweats, his easy humour and marveled at his courage.
Uncle Lou taught me to drive stick in his 1950 Mercury panel van, how to argue a speeding ticket in his Ferrari. He taught me many things about cars, trucks, produce, life. But most importantly he taught me about family, love and forgiveness.
Godfather, Uncle and friend... Lou was the best.

My deepest sympathy to Gwen, the boys and their families. We had some great times with Lou over the years, and I will remember those times with smiles and gratitude. I still remember their wedding day when I was a flower girl and very sick. Lou came over to me and asked me if I was OK. I was four years old and still remember this. I am glad I saw him last August. May he rest in peace. With love from Janice

To Paul, Rossana, Siena and family ~ I never knew your father, Paul, but I do know the important role our fathers play in our lives. I know that there is nothing that will speed you through the sorrow and sense of loss. But I also know that there will be a time when you'll suddenly realize that your thoughts are resting on your father in a whole new way, and that will bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart. And here's a thought that I found comfort in when my dad passed away. "Death is not extinguishing the light; it is only putting out the lamp because the dawn has come." ~ Rabindranath Tagore Much love, Elena
