Giuseppina Vendittelli

Obituary of Giuseppina Vendittelli

VENDITTELLI, Giuseppina

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Giuseppina on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Adolfo (1995). Loving Mamma to Battista (the late Carol) and Lina (Angelo) Persichilli. Cherished Nonna to Andrea (Anthony), Anita (Marcelo), Trish (Richard), Tina and Nicola as well as a Bis-Nonna to Andrew, Julian, Sloane and Harper. She will be missed by her sister Maddalena, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. Predeceased by her parents Teresa and Raffaele Fratangelo, brothers Vito and Aldo and sister Rita.

Giuseppina immigrated to Canada in 1956 with her two children and joined her husband Adolfo in St. Catharines. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Alfred Church where she was a part of the Our Lady of Grace committee. Giuseppina had many passions in life, whether it was tending to her garden or making lasagna or cavatelli for her Sunday family lunches. Her family was her life, she had a special bond with each of her grandchildren, especially Tina and Nicola, whom she babysat for their first 3 years. She will be missed for her amazing sense of humour.

Thank you to all who took time out of their day to send the family a text or call, it was greatly appreciated. A special thank you to family and neighbours who looked out for Giuseppina when she lived in St. Catharines. Thank you as well to all the caring Nurses, PSW’s and Administration Staff at Wesburn Manor in Toronto for their extraordinary care, in particular Marife Sebastian, her special caregiver and angel who loved her like her own mother. Given the current circumstances with the Covid-19 pandemic, a private family service has taken place and a Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
