Obituary of Albert Thomas Cook

COOK, Albert

 

Born in Glenelg Township Grey County Ontario on July 25 1936. Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, in his 84th year on March 14, 2020 at the Welland County General Hospital. Albert will be dearly missed by his loving wife Yvonne of 64 years. Loving father of Katherine Kent, Patricia (Randy) Golob, Cheryl Hoad (Larry) and Steve Cook (Penny). Grandfather to Nicholas (Valerie), Kevin (Kandace), Dwayne (Laura), Thomas, Sandi (Matt), Robert (Candace) and Keith, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Survived by sisters Marion Brohman, Joyce Andrews and Mabel Pauli (Lloyd), Brother-in-law Ken Watson, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sheila and Wayne Horst and Paul Mercey (Gwen). He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, best friend Nelson Broderick and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Fred and Bertha Cook, sister June, son-in-law Norman, granddaughter Michelle and great grandson Dawson. He is also predeceased by his sisters and brothers-in-law Bill Brohman, Walter Pauli, Darlene and Roy Gilkinson, Charles and Florence Mercey.

 

Albert was a Heavy Equipment Operator with Covello Brothers Construction and a Crane Operator with Newman Steel. He was also a jack of all trades pursuing his hobby of home renovations across St. Catharines as well as enjoyed watching the Leafs and the Blue Jays play. His sense of humour and his stories will be missed by all.
