It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, brother, father and grandfather, Edward Chernishenko (1932 - 2020). Edward passed away peacefully on February 1st, 2020 in his 88th year. He is survived by his wife Sabine, sons Michael (Marianne), and James (Ellen), grandchildren Michael, Matthew, and Natasha, and sisters Mavis and Lillian.
Ed was one of 12 children born to Michael and Onesia Chernishenko and raised in Blain Lake, Saskatchewan. A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan in Mechanical Engineering, Ed worked on engineering projects in Canada, the United States, and Greenland, but his true love and calling was farming. He was at peace pruning his trees and working his small fruit farm in Virgil, ON.
Cremation has taken place. A remembrance reception will be held at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St. St. Catharines, on Saturday, February 15 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
