Obituary of Edith Ingram Somerset
SOMERSET, Edith Ingram (nee Cameron)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing, on December 23rd, 2010, at Linhaven Home, of our beloved Edith after a long battle with Alzheimers disease. Edith will be greatly missed by her husband Bob, daughters Gill and Sue (Mike), mother Betty, brother Neil (Margaret) and extended family in Canada and the UK, and her many friends around the world.
Edith was born in Scotland and emigrated with her family to Canada in 1973. The family spent many years in Indonesia before returning to Canada in 1990. After receiving her BA at Brock University in 1995, she went on to teach English as a Second Language in Indonesia and China before settling in St. Catharines in 2000. Her warmth and caring character were an inspiration to all around her.
The family would like to thank Fran Ringler, as well as all the wonderful staff at Linhaven for their care of Edith over the past few years.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, January 4th, 2011 at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines at 11am. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Edith
