Obituary of Judy Elizabeth Gnot
GNOT, Judy - Reunited in Paradise with her loving husband John of 48 years on Thursday January 23rd, 2020, surrounded by the love of all of her family, friends and her loyal dog Teddy. Cherished mother of Tina (Lyndon) and Donna (Jerry). Loving Grandma of Abby (Dan), Emma, Jonathan, Nicolas (Kirsten), Alexis and Donovan. Beloved sister of Alice (Henry) and Bev (Ziggy). Sister in law to Stasia (the late Ed) and Mary (Joe). She is predeceased by her sister Jeannie (Joe), her parents Pauline and Joseph, her cherished grandmother Teofila and sister in law Annie (Joe).
If Judy wasn’t found getting her hands dirty in the garden, then she was out galivanting with her grandkids, or planning another trip with family or friends. She loved to travel to new places with John, her kids, grandkids and special friends. She cherished memories made in Allegany Mountains with Bruce and Lila, New York City trips with each of her grandkids, and checking off her bucket list with John in Memphis, Costa Rica, Hawaii and anywhere else her heart desired. She was the glue of the family, making sure to host weekly Sunday dinners…she was always happy with her home bursting at the seams with noisy kids, music and laughter.
She had a career with CIBC that at her retirement left her with many great friends made along the years. Always on the go, Judy then became a Real Estate Agent with Royal LePage adding to the lengthy list of very good friends that she held dear.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all who cared for her when she needed it most. Special thanks to Dr. Chan, Dr. Wasserman, and Dr. Kerley and the team at the Walker Family Cancer Centre. Judy, as well as John, were blessed to have Jan as their extraordinary, compassionate Nurse and Zophia with her caring way, reassurance and dignified assistance. Special thanks to nurse Sarah and Nora at the LHIN. Rose, Sunita, and Kayla were her small but mighty group of caregivers that gained her trust, and lightened her load even on the hardest days.
In keeping with Judy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, St Catharines on Saturday, February 1st from 10a.m.-12p.m. A Memorial Service will follow at 12p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations to Angels Rest Dog Rescue and Walker Family Cancer Centre- Medical Equipment Fund would be appreciated by the family.
