Surrounded by his loving family, Luigi passed away at his home on Friday, November 15, 2019, in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Norina (1994). Loving Papa to Carmelo, Mario, Amadeo (Kelli), Filomena, Rosario and Anna. Cherished Nonno to Matteson (Stephanie), Tealle (Joey), Nicole and Kara (Aaron). Brother to Rosario (Rosa), Francesco (the late Maria) and Antonio (the late Maria). He is predeceased by his siblings Emilio (the late Maria), Beniamino (the late Maria), Clementina (the late Giuseppe), Concetta (the late Armando), Maria (the late Pietro) and Stanislao (Maria). Brother-in-law to Carmen (Maria) Pantano, Anita (Francesco) Merenda and Maria Altomare. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family members in Italy, Canada and abroad.
Luigi worked at General Motors for many years. When he retired, he devoted himself towards his garden and his family. He enjoyed watching the Toronto Maple Leafs and Hockey Night in Canada every Saturday.
The family would like to thank Dr. T. Yu and the nurses at St. Elizabeth for their care and compassion. Visitation will take place at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with Vigil Prayers being held at 3 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Alfred Church, 272 Vine St., St. Catharines. Rite of Committal will follow Mass at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Hwy 20, Fonthill. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society
