It is with heavy hearts that the family of John William Chafe, of St. Catharines, Ontario, announce his passing in his home on November 14, 2019. Born on November 9, 1949 in St John's Newfoundland, John was 70 years young. John is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Jordie) and his son Bobby. He will be missed by his grandchildren Samantha, Brooke, Timothy, Thomas and Harper. John will be forever missed by his sisters Peggy Chafe, Betty Chafe, Pauline Chafe, Geraldine Stevenson, Fran Stevenson and Elizabeth Stevenson and by brothers Patrick Chafe, Bernard Chafe, Ronald Chafe, Michael Stevenson and Paul Stevenson. John has reunited with his "other half" twin brother Brian Chafe, his parents Margaret Murphy, Cyril Chafe and siblings Edward Chafe, George Chafe, Cyril Chafe Jr, Frank Chafe, Mary Chafe , Joan Stevenson , Catherine Stevenson and James Stevenson. John was a much loved uncle to 75 nieces and nephews and numerous greats. John will also be missed by his fur baby Patra, he will always be in her heart. John loved many things in life. He loved his Toronto Maple Leafs, his Blue Jays, playing euchre and cribbage, Newfie and country music, a cold beer, a hot tea, a cool breeze, his friends, crossword puzzles, a good laugh, and getting in a good dig. Most of all he loved his family. Family will receive guests at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St Catharines, Ontario, Monday November 18, 2019 from 2:30pm-4pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Epilepsy Niagara and would be greatly appreciated by the family.
