Obituary of Evelina Colacarro

COLACARRO, Evelina

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Mike for 65 years. Loving mother to Lina Tancredi, Pina (Egidio) Marconi and Lui (Sheila) Colacarro. Cherished Nonna to Melissa (Mike) Peso, Christopher (Lisa) Marconi, Alexander Marconi, Kristen Colacarro (Justin) and Michelle Colacarro (Patrick) and precious Bisnonna to Isabella Peso. Much loved sister of Maria (the late Antonio) Storto. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Predeceased by her parents Giuseppe and Teresa, and her siblings Anita (Arturo) Vendittelli, Romilda (Lucio) DeLisio, Irene (Giovanni) D'Amore and Nicola Lombardi.

Evelina enjoyed watching the loves of her life, her grandchildren and great-granddaughter grow up. Her greatest passions included cooking for her family, sewing, travelling and playing Bingo. She was a longtime member of the Women’s Auxiliary at Club Roma and a member of the St. Alfred’s Italian Senior Centre.

Visitation will take place at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Wednesday, November 13 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 3 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine St., St. Catharines, on Thursday, November 14 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Hwy 20, Fonthill. Memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Canada, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Alzheimer Society.
