COLLINS, Mavis Eileen

Surrounded by loved ones, Mavis passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Ted for 68 years. Loving mother of Ted Jr. (Ana), Larry (Ellen) and Carolyn (Jeff). Proud grandma/nana to the late Chris, Cindy (Rob), Brittney, Travis (the late Kitty), Kelsey (Tom), Lauren (Dustin), Rachel, Melanie, Gillian, Lenna, and Jackson. Great-grandmother to Brooke, Kyle, Skyla, Grayson and Claire. Special thanks to nephew Glyn Rothwell and his wife Marilyn for their weekly visits and ongoing support.

Mavis was raised in Merritton. She was former Merritton Lioness for many years. Mavis had a passion for needlepoint, gardening and reading. She also loved her birds and butterflies.

Cremation has taken place. Family and Friends will be welcomed at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Friday, November 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Mavis' life will be held on Saturday, November 16 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Mavis are asked to consider donating to Red Roof Retreat or the Salvation Army.
