My condolences to the Caddis family. He and my late father Charles Forrest (March 1st 2019) were friends. He visited my father in Scotland.
I know my Mum would have been thrilled to know that Jim piped for her at her funeral many years ago. I remember him rubbing a quarter in my hand when my first child was born. A Scottish tradition.
My thoughts have been with you,
Elaine (Forrest) Dueck

Jim was also a runner. When we went to the Toronto Police Games when Don Harris was Chief, we all ran a relay of 5 miles each but Jim continued and ran the full 26 Mile distance. Sorry to see him go.

I was deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend Jim. My sincere condolences to Elena and the entire Caddis family. Jim was a great husband and father. I will always remember Jim and miss his many stories of life in general, his love for family and music. One of Jim’s favourite treats was Irish wheaten scones heavily buttered. Jim will be sadly missed by his family,
work collegues and many friends.
With deepest sympathy
Joy and Dave Gray.

I was very saddened to hear of Jim's passing. He was a good friend and mentor. Jim showed me he had a lot of patience when he taught me to play the bagpipes. We had a lot of laughs and I am going to miss him. My condolences to Jim's family.

My first pipe instructor and close friend. We had many conversations, happy and heated at times. I’ll miss those moments. He’ll be sadly missed. The world is a quieter place today with his loss.

Such a wonderful photo of Jim, and so representative of his great sense of humor. He loved to laugh, especially when telling stories of his time in the police or with the Royal Marines. Just a super guy all round and so many people are better off for having known the man.....I know I am.

Very sad to hear of Jim's passing. I worked with Jim on the Niagara Parks Police and was a mid-night shift student of the Bag Pipes. Jimmy was always a blast to be around. He used to come up to Kincardine with the Niagara Regional Police Pipe Band for the Kincardine Highland Games where they competed against many Pipe Band from around the Globe. Many good memories. Please accept our sincerest condolences for the loss of one of the good ones.
