Obituary of Gary Everett Rankin

RANKIN, Gary Everett - Passed away surrounded by his loving family in his 73rd year on Thursday, October 24, 2019. Born in Durham Pictou County, Nova Scotia on April 19, 1947. Dearly loved husband of Linda (nee Neil), beloved dad to Tammy (Edward) Hildebrandt and Jennifer (Kevin) Miller. Adored grandpa to Calvin (Sarah), Noah (Ally), Benjamin, Joshua and Jack. Survived by 7 sisters and brothers (Phyllis, Irene, Eric, Colleen, Heather, Ken and Kim), 3 sisters-in-law Sharon (John), Diane and Angie as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Cecil. Special friend to Walter and Pat. Gary was a friend of Bill W. for many years. Gary was a member of the Wednesday night men’s discussion group for 23 years. A special thank you to Dr. Brian Kerley and the entire staff and volunteers at Hospice Niagara for their exceptional care. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Hospice Niagara or West St. Andrews Church. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St. St. Catharines on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 2-4 p.m and 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of Gary’s life will take place at West St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 42 Pelham Road, St. Catharines on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
