Obituary of Fortunato (Fred) Porpiglia

PORPIGLIA, Fortunato (Fred) - Passed away peacefully on Thursday October 17, 2019 at the age of 94. Beloved husband of the Late Francesca (nee Tripodi). Loving father to Carmen (Cheryl), Joe (Laura), the Late Tina Pollak and son in law Charlie (Debra) Pollak. Grandfather to Angela, Christopher (Jessica), Jordan, Joey and Stephanie. Loving brother of Giovanni (Pina). Cherished friend of Amada. Will be remembered by many relatives and friends in Canada and Italy. The family will receive visitors at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St., St Catharines on Sunday October 20 from 2-4pm and 6-8:30pm. A vigil prayer will be said at 8pm Sunday. A Funeral Mass will be held for Fred on Monday October 21 at 11am at St Alfred's RC Church. Entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
