MILANO, Michele
Passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 15th, 2019 at Niagara Health System in St. Catharines at 94 years of age. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Angela Milano (of Italy), and his loving wife Maria of 60 wonderful years (May 4, 2011). Cherished father of Joseph (Luz) Milano and Angela (John) Miele. Nonno will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Frank (Sarah) Miele, Steven (Joy) Miele, Jose Medina and Isabella Milano. Bisnonno of Quinn, Jack, Ava and Dominic Miele. Beloved brother of Teresa Basile. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother-in-law Antonio Basile, brother-in-law Vincenzo Saponara, brother Domenico Milano, brother Antonio Milano and sister-in-law Francesca Milano (of Italy), sister Filomena and brother-in-law Matteo Giacomino and nephew Rocco Giacomino. Our sincerest thanks are extended to Dr. Camacho of Cardiology Unit and staff for their excellent care and compassion on Michele’s final day. A special thanks goes to March of Dimes (Wellness and Supportive Living Program) for the love, kindness, gentle care and compassion they gave Michele for the past eight years. Michele’s family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Friday, October 18 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Friday at 3 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Alfred Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine St., St. Catharines on Saturday, October 19 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation in Michele’s honour.
