I was saddened to read this obituary today..although I did not know him all that well, I know how much he was respected as a colleague and valued as the friend of both of my parents.I did, however, have the pleasure and privilege of salmon fishing with both him and Yvette on a couple of occasions many years ago (thank you mom and dad!) Suffice it to say, it was easy to understand subsequent to those occasions why my parents held both Mr. and Mrs. Baril in such high regard. May he rest in peace and my most sincere condolences to Yvette and family.

Rachel, Monique, Robert, Bernard and Ma Tante Yvette,
I am so sorry. Mon Oncle Bernard was loved by many. I am one of these people. I have so many fond memories of him as a little girl growing up and now as an adult. He has had a profound impact on me as a man who was kind, patient and generous of his time, his home and his words of wisdom.
He will certainly remain in my heart.
With love to you all,
Cousin Denise

Hello,
I would like to share my condolences and well wishes to the family. I only knew Bernard a little bit as a child. His grandson Jean-Pierre was a great friend of mine in elementary school and I have many memories visiting his grandparents. He was such a kind, gentile and empathetic person. Always making us snacks and great meals, driving us around and had so many toys at his home! I loved visiting his house and seeing all the amazing paintings he had done over the years, truly incredible. I hope he rests in peace.
Cheers,
Marc Noiseux

Bernie and Yvette were our neigjbours for the past 91/2 years. We immediately loved them both. As a welcome gift he painted us a lovely portrait of sailboats on the water. He asked us if it was "ok" if he added birds to the piece. We told him he was the artist and to add whatever he felt. It still hangs in our foyer, as well as other pieces he gave us over the years. Brenie was out ranking leaves weeks before his passing. This was his way. He always took the time to come over and say hello and ask about our daughter Trinity. It felt like he was family and we will miss hks presence dearly.
Our thoughts are with Yvette and the rest of his family at this time. All our love.
