Oscar Bordenave

Obituary of Oscar Jose Bordenave

It is with great sadness on August 21, 2019, Oscar Bordenave (retiree of Hayes Dana) beloved husband of 60 years to Hilda, devoted father to Hector (Norma), Patricia, "abuelo" to Leslie (Tyler), Daniel (Miranda), Michael (Elizabeth),  great grandfather to Jackson, loving brother to Beba and Ceasar (1990) peacefully passed away at the age of 83.  He was an amazing, hard-working, innovative, family-oriented man that would do anything for anyone.

If you asked Oscar how he was doing, his reply would always be "Any better and it would be illegal."  Oscar and Hilda were the first couple to introduce and dance the Argentinian Tango at the Latin American Club.  He created a beautiful family with his wife Hilda; he accomplished his mission and his empire was built.  His new mission is in a wonderful, warm, sunny place where he's socializing, eating "asado", drinking wine and reuniting with his family and friends of past.

Dad, your passion and heart for boxing will be greatly missed.  Thank you for sharing the time together with some great memorable moments.  The memories we made together will remain in our hearts forever.  Oscar will also be greatly missed by his little four-legged companion “Lolita”.

His wife and family wish to express their gratitude to all the doctors and staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital for their care.

Memorial visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton Street, on Wednesday, August 28th from 4 to 6 p.m. Vigil prayers at 4 p.m.  A reception in Oscar’s honour to follow in the Kristen French Fellowship Hall.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
